'The Chemistry Between Us' a conversation between industries committed to the wellbeing of patients

The Association of EAEU Pharmaceutical Manufacturers together with the organizers of the International Forum 'BIOPROM: Industry and Technology for Humans' will hold a featured session titled 'The Chemistry Between Us' on the first day of the BIOTECHMED Forum scheduled for October 7.

The Association of EAEU Pharmaceutical Manufacturers together with the organizers of the International Forum 'BIOPROM: Industry and Technologies for Human Use' will hold a featured session titled 'The Chemistry Between Us' on the first day of the BIOTECHMED Forum scheduled for October 7. The key discussion topic will focus on the future of chemical and pharmaceutical industries and development in devising active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).

The discussion will be featuring the following special guests: Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Yurin, heads of pharmaceutical and chemical industry companies namely JSC 'Acticomp', VELPHARM GROUP, JSC Pharmstandard, SIBUR GROUP, JSC NIOPIK, as well as The Federal State Institution 'State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices" (also known as FSI 'SID & GP') and the Roskhimreaktiv Association.

This session participants will discuss a number of pressing issues related to future development prospects and possible cooperation between the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, all in the interests of patients. Some of the specific discussion topics cover joint steps of the state and business to develop measures to build new technological chains, modernizing domestic production of pharmaceutical substances and low-tonnage chemical products for the needs of pharma, as well as the matter of staff training for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and ways to address the shortage of qualified professionals.

This session moderator, Chairman of the Board of The Association of EAEU Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Alexey Kedrin is confident that for further development of active pharmaceutical ingredients production in Russia it is essential the step-by-step cooperation between the chemical industry and pharma be strengthened. 'In a dialog with the regulators for both industries, chemical and pharmaceutical, there's a strong need to develop and implement measures of inter-industry support for the creation and development of product chains that work to synthesize active pharmaceutical ingredients. I am confident that during the joint discussion with our colleagues at BIOTECHMED, we will manage to find the right directions for further development of domestic pharmaceutical production and achieving technological sovereignty in the interests of patients.”
